"Ganpati bappa morya"

Shree Siddhivinayak meaning “ Ganesha who grants your wish”, is the name of a two century old temple of hindu primary deity Lord Ganesha, son of Shivji and Mata Parvati. Situated at Prabhadevi, Mumbai, This temple was first consecrated on Thursday 19th November 1801. It is an affirm belief of many that whosever visit the temple gets his wish fulfilled and therefore every year millions of followers all over the world come to seek bappa’s  blessing.

The temple was built by a rich Agri woman named Deubai Patil. Childless, Deaubai built the temple so that the Lord should grant children to other barren women. Ramakrishna Jambhekar Maharaj, a disciple of the Hindu saint Akkalkot Swami Samarth, buried two divine idols in the front of the presiding deity of the temple on the orders on his guru. As prophesied by Swami Samarth, after 21 years after the burial of the icons, a mandar tree grew at that spot with a svayambhu Ganesha in its branches.

Siddhivinayak Temple is among the most visited places in Mumbai. The devotee of the temple includes politicians who frequently visit the temple and also Bollywood film stars who continuously visit to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha.
